I have a 1989 Mercuiser 3.0 with serial number 1389-9562. The drive belt came loose on it and there is a circular rubber piece that attaches to the crank shaft pulley that fell off. There is a cut in the rubber but it looks like it was made like that, the cut is perfect not shredded.

Does anyone know what im talking about or what that rubber piece is or does? I found a picture from a different motor and have pointed with a red arrow to the piece that looks similar on my motor.

Most car parts shops should be able to supply. Just make sure the timing marks are in the same place....
