Alpha One Gimbal Bearing Removal Help

I am using the ATD rear axle bearing puller to remove my gimbal bearing in my alpha one gen 1. I cannot seem to arrange this between the bearing and grease seal. Of those who have used this or a similar puller, are you pulling out the grease seal with the bearing? I would like to avoid doing this if at all possible.

Just use the 3 jaw puller on your slide hammer.

I was able to borrow the slide hammer puller (that Don S posted a photo of) from my local auto parts store, Autozone. They had it as part of their loaner tool program (so you can use it for free)

That is the puller I used, and yeah the seal came out with it. Seal doesn't do a lot anyway so I just put it back in. Not saying that is the best way to do it, just the way I did it.:facepalm:

Is there any way to just tilt the bearing to get it to come our of the slots in the seal? I seem to remember this reference somewhere? Never tried it.

Not a good idea, hacks do it that way. Here is a 1985 service bulletin explaining why.
