New around here and to the boating scene. Been searching around for the answer and couldn't find an answer.

Is it normal for prop to spin while at idle and not in gear? It is spinning at a slow pace but it is about one revolution about every 5 seconds. If I put throttle to it not in gear it speeds up.

I assume this is out of the water on muffs. It's just the friction of the oil and the spinning gears that causes it. Very normal.

Thanks for the info was a little worried looking at videos on youtube and other guys props didn't budge except for when they put the hand to the throttle.
