Alpha One hinge pin torque

I am installing the bell housing after a new bellows install (first time for me) and need to torque down the hinge pin bolts. I know the service manual says to torque to 95 lb-in, but (from previous experience) that seems very high for bolts this size into an aluminum housing, and I am afraid of stripping the housing threads. Has anyone had bad/good luck with this torque value?

1990 4.3 alpha one gen one.

Re: Alpha One hinge pin torque

torque spec varies from mc-1 through alpha one, you can even read different torque values for the same model in the same manual

generally i do the following:

mc-1 - 80 lb/ft
r/mr/alpha one/gen II - 100 lb/ft
bravo - 150 lb/ft

a careful inspection and cleaning of the threads on both hinge pin and bell housing will determine how to best torque them - if they are crummy, go less, if they are good, do 100
