1990 bayliner capri cuddie no start, gas leaking at carb

'90 bayliner capri cuddy 3.0 L mercruiser put in water last sunday for 2-3 hours . ran great , stopped & swam for a while , started back up no problem . ran awesome . went to lake yest. , put boat in , started , put it in reverse w sum throttle & just died out . pushed er to dock . crank, crank , crank , no start, almost wanted to start but sounded kinda flooded . I pulled the breather off , only to find out that there seemed to be fuel dripping from the two "jets" . please help .

sounds like a stuck float, or junk in the carb

probably time to pull the carb and rebuild it

wouldn't hurt to do a full tune-up, fuel filters, etc... at this time

I believe the tube is dry

anyone know where to get the carb. rebuild kit for this specific carb ? (possibly cheap ) ?

anyone that would have a schematic or a repair guide for this engine & carb would be greatly appreciated !

For the rebuild kit look for the numbers on the carb. You probably have a mercarb but you need to make sure you get the right kit by the numbers.

there is a red metal tab attatched to the carb , just below the spark arrestor. it reads > 3.0L 13899562 . WOULD THIS BE THE CORRECT (NUMBER) IM LOOKING FOR ?

Try to look for a casting number or stamped number. That number is good but doesn't come up in the list of kits available. Mercruiser Carburetor Kits - iboats
