Helping a buddy get his boat back up and running. The old merc carb is in bad shape. Can't get half of it to come apart to clean it up etc.

Looking around new Merc carbs are way too expensive, approx $650+/-. I've seen Rochester replacements but have read mixed reviews on it. A buddy sent me this link to a Holley Marine Carb

Holley 0-80320-1 Holley 2300 Marine 2-bbl Carburetor

Anyone give this carb a shot on the 3.0?

Boat is a 2001 Regal LSR1800.

That is what Volvo used for years.
You could end up with problems with the throttle linkage hooking up.
