The boat is 2001 Maxum with a 4.3l engine, the outdrive power tilt pump will not turn on. The solenoids click but the pump does not work. The solenoids were replaced last July when a similar issue happened. The up button will click the solenoid, as well as the down and trailer buttons but the pump will not engage at all. I tried jumping direct to the pump and get a huge spark and no movement on the pump. I am connecting an alligator clip from the red wire to a screw driver and then roughing the blue and green. The green (top) solenoid) gives me the spark but the blue (bottom solenoid) does nothing.
Should I be getting this huge spark? Is there a better way to jump out the solenoids? How else can I troubleshoot the pump. It worked fine three months ago when I stored it for the winter. This did not work with the engine running in the water and the batter is new and on a charger.
