That brown cack... That's oil and water... Bellows is leaking, the water's rusted the yoke at the front of the drive-shaft housing, which is now leaking oil into the bellows (and starving the top bearing), which the (now dead) unis are stirring into that brown stuff you're seeing....

this is why it's a good idea to pull the drive during winterize

lots more time to repair bellows and drive seals

That is why outdrives get pulled and inspected during winterization, not in the spring the day before a 3 day holiday.

The bellows failed to start with, then without proper winterization and setting with water in it all winter, things rusted and locked up.
Nothing a new drive and bellows, and gimbal bearing won't cure.
 
Top
