Hello all, I'm going to service my outdrive and check my engine alignment myself, first time for me. Serial # OL977935. I've been studying manual #14 to be sure I have everything I need. On page 2A-6, it says to properly position and glue in the rubber gasket. I find no glue part # and I'm not sure the gasket is even in my gasket set #94996Q 2. Other than that, I think I'm ready to pull it. Can anyone clarify this for me? Thanks, Cliff

I use bellows adhesive because it's usually handy. But any contact cement or rubber adhesive will work. You just want it to stay in place and not get knocked out of place when installing the drive, because then you would have water in your bellows aka $$$$$$$.

I'd prefer it to NOT get knocked out of place... :D :D :D ;)

The gasket is the large round one, and it get's glued into the bell housing opening. I use some grease around the water inlet opening O-ring to hold it... some use bellows adhesive on it as well, either will do the job.

Grease the splines but not the 2 O-rings on the shaft, they get some oil.

When you get it in position, while in forward gear, use the prop to turn the drive slowly (turn it CCW) by hand to align it with the splines in the coupler and it should fall into place.
