Hello, And thanks in advance

We need to Replace the Bellows on our 1999 Mercruiser Bravo II

And Are sure we want to go the distance and and replace the rest of the seals as well as the Gimble bearing. We fish the great lakes so boat maintenance is important to us

Can some one please advise on good if after market kit/parts is ok ??? Or should we buy OEM

Where are a few good places to buy these parts ??

All other advise welcome

I would take no risk for such an important part as the bellows. Buy OEM. Maybe a couple of $ more but it's worth it.

Some folks buy Sierra bellows kits and seem to have no issues though I also would only buy OEM just for the peace of mind.

There are countless responses from the experts that the shift cable should only be OEM because of the better materials.

Many times the best way for shopping parts is to find the OEM part number then check with your local dealer of just google the part number to see what sites come up. Some sites can be lower cost but charge for shipping where others an order over a certain amount is free shipping. Some places you may have to wait several days other places can have parts drop shipped right to your door.

This first link is the Mercury site for a parts lookup diagram:

Or here is another:
Marine Engine Parts | Mercruiser Parts | Boat Engine Parts - Performance Product Technologies

Having serial numbers of the engine/drive helps also.

If buying Sierra, check here at IBOATS for very good pricing.
