I have a 2003 Sea Ray 176 with a 3.0L. Engine s/n 0M3....

I think it has an electronic ignition but searching for the answer has proved to be more difficult than I anticipated.

What are the tell tell signs that your boat/engine is equipped with one?

BTW, the whole reason for the question is to understand what gap the spark plugs need.
Apparently, the gap is different between electronic ignition and points.

thanks.

Welcome aboard! ;)

Your 2003 I'm sure does indeed have electronic ignition. But for future reference, you can always take the distributor cap off and look inside to see if it has points or not.

Here's what points and condenser set up looks like:

You have the Delco EST distributor. The last points distributor in the 3.0L engines was back in the mid 90's. Everything after that has been the EST.
