Mercruiser 165 (GM I6) Timing Cover Question

I can't seem to find a timing cover for these engines...does anyone know if the 3.0L GM I4 timing covers are interchangeable? I know many parts are just not sure about the timing cover. Reason is the timing marking tab is broken off of the original cover on mine. I know it's not a huge deal but If I could scoop a nice one up from a 4cyl for the cheap it may be worth replacing.

The 79-81 l6 and the 140's from 72 to 94 used the same Merc PN 59431 cover. The 78 and earlier 6 shows 2 different numbers, so not sure what the difference is.

Got me, I went to my program and went to the 79-81 6 and wrote down the number, then looked at the 4's.
Now I look at the 6 again and it's like your's. :facepalm:

To the OP: I just picked up a nice used one for my L6 250 project on flea bay two weeks ago for 30 bucks; ya might keep looking there or on Craigslist. Mine was rusted away due to water pump leakage. Also, there are new ones out there for a price.
