Mercruiser to Rochester carb swap

Hey everyone.

So I bought a new (rebuilt) carb for my 1997 Stingray 3.0LX 4-banger. My original carb was a mercarb that had electric choke and the fuel inlet was on the front of it. This new "replacement" carb has the fuel inlet on the side. It comes off the right side of the carb and angles to the front.

My problem is that now with this Rochester carb on the motor, the fuel line does not reach it. Is this a common problem when replacing the Mercarb? Do they make a replacement fuel line that is longer? Or and adapter to lengthen the fuel line? Thanks

I am assuming that it is a marine carb. You could add a short piece of fuel hose in the line making sure the fittings or clamps are secure and safe. If it is not a marine carb Don't use it Period!

All you need to make a new fuel line is a tubing bender and a flaring kit. Any automotive repair shop will have these and the tubing.
