1995 Sea Ray 195 Mercruiser 4.3

Just became the owner of this boat.

I'ts a 1995 Sea Ray 195 BR

It has a 4.3 Mercruiser in it.

I am only finding 3 drains in the engine compartment.

1 Blue Plastic plug on each exhaust manifold
and 1 brass drain on the block.

Are there anymore ??? Locations ???

Its supposed to get down pretty cold these next few days.

I sure don't want any cracked engine parts.

There has to be a block drain on both sides. You also want to pull big hose off the circulation pump and make sure it's drained. Probe all the drain plug holes with a wire or screw or something to make sure they are clear.

If you have power steering, make sure the PS cooler is drained.

Do you have an Alpha or Bravo drive? If Bravo, drain the pump and the hoses going to it.

Either drive, put drive down to make sure it's completely drained.

Its an Alpha One Gen II, and it is in the down position.

I will find the other drain in the block and check the hoses as you have instructed.

Ayuh,.... 'n when ya pull a drain plug, poke, 'n prode the hole with a nail or screw to knock loose the crud that sometimes blocks 'em up...

I found the plug on the other side of the block. It was a pain to get to. My arm was just long enough. I near about had to stand on my head... but I got it.
