I want to fit a cabin heater to my boat, to be run off the engine raw water cooling ?open? system. I have surveyed the installation before I have purchased the components and found that the water circulating pump is not OEM and does not have the fitting that is to be drilled out 3/8? for the return hose connection (Position ?b? on attached manual extract).
Is there another suitable point in the engine cooling circuit where I can fit the return hose connection?
If not, could I drill and tap the non OEM pump housing in this area and fit a hose tail connector?
