After an upgrade from IL6 to a 350 vortec the steering has got heavy especialy to starboard,this is on a MC1 drive in a 20'
80's Tri hull,the more pitch on the prop the worse it seems,changed the ratio to 1.1.5,whats involved in adding power steering genuine or aftermarket

Try to get one from a salvage boat, that way you will get the brackets and can see how it goes together. New would cost some major dinero. To see how it all goes together, get the manual for a 5.7 Mercruiser, it's all in there.

Ayuh,... Look into a full Hydraulic system,... Pricey, but the Best way to go...

Like NHGuy said,... The pump, 'n the actuator can be found, the bracketry will be more of a problem, on an Oem refit...

Hi Bond-o,when you say a full system do you mean an aftermarket or Mercruiser ?
