power trim goes up but not down

I am new to this whole I/O thing and the problem I am having right now is the power trim goes up but not down, and it will not go into reverse, the engine is mercruiser 140 pre alpha and the drive is merc, any thoughts on what I should test to figure these 2 things out or what might be wrong

Do you have a year of the engine/drive? Single or dual solenoid pump?

the boat is a 77, other than that I have no idea of the year, I just bought this boat as a project

Look at the trim pump, does it have one solenoid on it or two?
