3.0 mercruiser steering question

Hi, I'm new here and recently bought a 96 bayliner 1750. The issue with it is the outdrive or the steering system I'm guessing... It is quite hard to turn the steering wheel, specially to the right. Also when I'm cruising the boat wants to go left. Any sugestions on this problem? Thanks.

Since your 3.0l most likely does not have power steering, the trim tab fin zink anode on your alpha stern drive is probably out of adjustment.

In the link below is a picture of the fin you will need to adjust while testing out on the water till you get the boat to operate the way you like it.
