Severly cracked '92 Mercruiser 3.0L block - Will a '96 3.0LX block work?

I need a little help to determine the differences I need to look for in these two set ups? Power steering, different carb, exhaust connection, flywheel, etc... Thanks in advance for your reply.

Oh, BTW they are both Alpha I Gen II sterndrives...
