Manifold

Is there a standard to replace manifolds or is it in direct relationship to hours. Looking to buy a used boat and have concerns. One is a 2005 with 317hours the other a 2007 with 45 hours. Both Merc Cruisers 5.0BavoIII

More a question of type of manifold and use. Salt water? Dry joint?

salt water . . . inspect at 3 year intervals

Replace once you get tired of inspecting them. or when the mating surface gets down to about 50% of original.
