mercury cruiser 170hp 3.7 470 outdrive

Ive got a mercruiser 170hp 470 3.7 . Had to pull outdrive off todo some services. But now when i go to put the fluid in. Its pushing out the seal on the tube you feel outdrive with. The one that screws onto the quart you are feeling it with. Ive tried pumping fast and slow. Any ideas on why that would happened

And yes i have the vent screw off on the top.

Ayuh,.... If yer oil pump bottle is leakin',.... Fix it....
