I need to know what outdrive I have, to see if it will bolt on and work on my lower .I have looked at the mercruiser id chart but the serial numbers Are not the same I know it a alpha 1 a letter stamped on the shaft is a D ,1.84 but I can not match the serial # to the list Serial # 00498864 do the zeros make a difference or iam i reading it wrong , is it a pre 1983 upper ?need to see if the upper will fit on a 1992 3.0 i do not think it will work thanks RB
