Hi everyone, trying to get a general idea of the cost to replace the tilt and trim switches on my '79 sea ray 190 SV I/O with a Mercruiser alpha drive. Found both the wire harness' cut in the gimbal area. Local marine repair shop hasn't done any for quite some time and is unable to give me an idea of the cost. Can anyone give me a ball park figure?? Thanks !

Re: trim/tilt switches

The trim parts you need will cost between $70 & $120 depending on exactly what you need and where you choose to buy them. There will be other parts and specialized tools needed which could add up to a substantial cost, again, depending on exactly what you need, want to replace and where you choose to buy them.
If you are looking to have it done and have a mechanic that is incapable of giving you a valid estimate then you need to find another mechanic.
