Mercruiser 302 888 drive swap to 16ft

Hi guys I currently have a 16ft with 2.5 alpha1 mercruiser. I purchased A complete 302 with drive. It is all connected with the transome wall in between seems like they cut it off to get motor out lol anyway deal was 200 bucks motor rotated 2 cycles so nothing hitting. I plan to swap this in my boat. I know Alot work but I'm looking for project like this. I have the complete 188 302 with mercruiser 888 outdrive. My main concern is the bellhousing mounts that don't line up with my alpha one. So is their a adapter plate or a way to mount a gm bell housing to make it work or any other way. I have something to work with here please help me out.

Moved to the Mercruiser section. Restoration section would be if you had the donor boat and wanted to fix what they did to the transom Parts and mounting questions should go over here. Good to see you got the Ford block you originally wanted. Hope all works out. Remember you still have the wrong gear ratio if you keep the Alpha Good luck!

Well, you shouldn't be using the bell housing from your existing boat. You will basically want to remove everything forward of the transom wall and outside of the transom wall. Then replace said items with the 302/#1 drive that you just picked up.

That's what I was thinking haulnazz15 but I was trying to avoid doing that transome swap. If theirs a special way to mount it on my alpha one. I do have everything from motor to the outdrive assembly. If theirs no way of bolting mounts to my alpha then ima have to swap transomes.

Ayuh,... No adapters for doin' that....

At the Least, the inner transom plate needs to be swapped, but that'll bring up other issues later...
Mainly, but not only, the exhaust...

Ok will the mc1 transome plates fit in my current whole in hull.

I do have all parts from the pulleys to outdrive. All exhoust all parts

Yes, all of the parts will swap over to the transom and fit the existing cutout. The main issue I can think of that you don't likely have is the trim pump for the #1 drive was a HPLV pump, but that can be remedied.

Will mc1 transome plate be a direct bolt up to my whole specialy with the screws

While I'm not quite sure what the question is by the spelling/grammar, the bolt holes will line up just fine.

Lol sorry About that spelling just rush threw the typing so mc1 transom bolts will go in my current no problem then cool thanks

What depends. Don't understand can anyone help me out what the difference all I can think of is fitting the hoses to my setup everything should be straight forward right
