89 Mercruiser 3.0 w/ DDIS set timing

Hello,

I've got an 89 Mercruiser 3.0L Alpha One with the DDIS ignition on an 89 Sea Ray 160 and i need to check timing. I know it's supposed to be 8 BTDC, but i'm told i have to put it in base timing mode by jumping a wire. I cannot find what wire is supposed to be jumped, so if someone could help me out that would be great!

They obviously didn't know what they were talking about. No base timing, just turn the distributor till the mark you want comes up and tighten it down.

I have a 1989 marathon.. 3.0 Alfa one...I've checking some thing things Would like to know best way to check the timing see if its right....motor is load when I push it and wobble a little at idle.. Did carb adjustment still has a Lil wobble
