Question on "water injestion" during flushing with muffs

Just read a thread about flushing an Alpha sterndrive that referenced service bulletin 99-9 (http://forums.iboats.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=155373&d=1340979368). It discusses not running engine at idle while flushing w/muffs to avoid "water ingestion". Question: what is water ingestion?

Water ingestion is water entering the cylinders on the engine. This is bad. If your hose pressure is to high and the engine dies it could enter the cylinders and cause hydrolock.
