Boat is a '74 Starcraft Chieftain with Merc 165 250 I6 and MC-1 drive. I'm looking for suggestions from the experienced guys for a new shifter.
My boat was "renovated" at some point in it's past and it was all very badly done. Current shifter does not work correctly, and is not right for the boat.
I bought a used Merc shifter on ebay and am in the process of installing it, but I'm still not very happy with it and not sure if is correct either.
I know Morse and Teleflex make controls, as well as others, but I'd like some more experienced opinions on a good one and where to get one.
Will need to be a sidemount, single lever with the throttle/shifter button or disconnect for those cold starts
