What else can a person use from the auto parts store that works good like the quicksilver rtv sealer for installing intake manifold and such?

Re: Good substitute for quicksilver rtv sealer

I've used the Loctite product, I've used Ultra-Blue... All with good results... It's just an engine, nothing special as far as the long motor is concerned... Made by GM, in GMs factory... Supplied to Merc so they can hang they garbage on it and charge ridiculous amounts of money for ordinary stuff....

Buy anything to do with the long block from a normal car shop. The only things 'Marine' and need to be that way are the ignition system, starting system, charging system and fuel system.... and there's plenty of aftermarket specialists in those items too...

I'm currently in the process of finding alternate sources of EVERYTHING to do with my engine... fan belt, relays, spark plugs, caps, rotors... The LOT! So far I have bought my maintenance and repair costs down to less than half that if I'd used 'GENUINE' parts... That DOES NOT mean I'm sacrificing quality or safety.... I'm just getting very smart about what and where I buy.... (and that's not easy in Australia... You are SO lucky in the U.S. with all those cars running around with GM V6s in them )... :D

Chris..........
