Alpha One Shift Cable Replacement

As time goes on I'm having a harder time shifting into reverse. The transition from forward to reverse is not smooth at all and from all I've read on this forum it points to the lower shift cable on the Alpha One. My question is should I attempt to change it myself or is this best left to a Mercruiser repair shop? How difficult is this repair the first time around? I've done all of my own maintenance/repair on this boat so far but I don't want to get in over my head on this one. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

OK. Thanks, I'll check it out. Have you ever changed one of these yourself?
