My Cooling Issues Solved

I had a local friendly mechanic inspect my coolin system on my 1988 Mercruiser 350 with RWC. My thermostat is a 180 and is in need of replacement, but the housing is good. My port exhaust manifold is probably 50 percent blocked with corrosion. I caught him before he removed the starboard side, and told him to just fix both, change the TStat, change the oil, and also change the water pump.

I'm looking at 600 to 700 bucks including labor.

Oh well, other that this, he said this old 1988 Wellcraft Aruba 232 is in very nice shape.

It's gonna be $874 for all of the parts and labor. He will be using the GLM manifold set, and he has already blasted my thermostat housing clean. For peace of mind, I'm happy to pay it. I'm assuming that I will be running much cooler and efficiently now.
