I have a 1996 4.3 Alpha drive and the ignition fades after abour 4 full cranks on the engine. The engine fires but won't run. The starter os O.K. The power and grounds are O.K. during cranking and so is the coil. Ignition Pick up is at 10.7 Mega-ohms.
Also, when I removed the ICM modue and tuned it over, water came out of it.
My Question is... Is it probable that the ICM Module is the issue and also, the new replcaement part ($540.00) does not just plug in. The wiring harnes requires modification, Is this common? Are these things prone to failure?
