1995 4.3L MERCRUISER rotor button issue

Alpha 1 gen 2 thunderbolt iv ignition. Removed cap and tried removing rotor button. Will not budge. Didn't see any retaining screw. Looked in mercruiser manual 18. Exploded view of distributor no scew listed. Pulled on it but don't want to pull to hard aand rip something else off. Any sugestions. Thanks you

Sometimes they take some heat to break loose, especially if someone used red loctite on it as recommended by Mercruiser (Why I have no clue), rust will also hold them on. You can also use a couple of screwdrivers to get under the rotor, not just the metal ring, to pry up. Just be careful not to damage anything else in the process.

Don S. Thanks worked like a charm. Thought about doing it last night. Just didn't want to tear it up. Behind the power curve trying to get boat in water. Just got back from deployment.
