I have a 1976 Sea Ray SRV180 the has some issues with the out drive and gimble. I have the 165Hp 4.1L straight 6 in my boat. The donor boat is a 1975 SRV190 and has a v8 233hp ford 351 in it. I'm wondering if I can pull the our drive and take that and put it on the back of my 76 SRV180.

Nope, gear ratios are wrong but you can just change the lower unit.

Nope,... The gear ratio is Very different,.... The I6 will be laborin' to hard, even with a tiny prop...

I actually just want to swap out the gimble and housing... my out drive itself if fine.. just my steering ia all messed up... Was thinking this $300 donor boat would be a good investment...

Never mind..I've watched a bunch of videos on you tube and read thru some repair manuals.. I think instead of swaping things out, I'm just going to rebuild things.. Going to get started on it later in the week... I realized, my questions are kind of dumb now.. lol
