anyone tell me right way to install distributor

888 drive ford 302
i am trying to install the distributor
and need to know after i have motor
up to intake stroke on #1 cylinder
pointer set to 10 btdc
were should rotor point to
anyone have a dia. i can look at

I believe you want number one cylinder to be at top dead center on the compression stroke. Both valves should be closed.
Then install the distributor and the rotor should point to the spark plug wire for the number one cylinder. You can move the plug wires around the cap so long as you keep the correct firing order.
