how do i back flush mercruiser 454s 1997 bravo drives

boat over heated changed thermostat 160 degrees,<br />new riser/manifolds/impellor/recirculating pumps,<br />was running fine,wondering if intakes are clogged saltwater environment oil pressure is good/temperature comes back down to 175 when lower throttle.<br /><br />any insight.

Is this raw water cooled or fwc?. Possibly a blown head gasket. But first, I would pull off the hose coming from the transom that feeds the cooling system and see what kind of flow you have. Don't do this for too long or you will fry the rubber exhaust boots..........JK

raw water wouldnt i hear a leak or loose rpms ?

Not necessarily. A cylinder leakdown test will tell you more, and you still need to verify that you have enough water volume coming from your drive.....JK
