hello. i recently bought a boat from my cousin. it had a 1966 mercruiser 110hp in it. my cousin didnt winterize it so now the block is cracked (milky oil) i pulled the engine out and found a crack so i bought a 72 120hp block. but it needs to be bored. i know if i get it bored ill have to change the pistons and rings. do i have to do anything to the head? also i bought another boat for the engine but it had what i believe to be a 3.0L omc. similar engine? previous owner painted the engine black, i know this bc its flaking off and the paint underneath is blue. would i be able to swap these engines? would it line up with the outdrive ok, or what would i have to do..any advice?

the 3.0 can be swapped for the 2.5. As for rebuilding your existing engine, yes, have your engine builder look at the head as well.
