I just received a replacement alternator (MES3140M-D) for my old prestolite. Went to put it in and it seems the new alternator's case is much larger, roughly an inch wider than the width of the mounting bracket. I've purchased a longer bolt and am now trying to think of what I can use for spacers to make up that inch or so. Anyone done this before?
