1978 century boat io boat with mercruiser outdrive u joints making noise

we have experienced noise coming from what we believe would be the u joints in the outdrive; we do get a little water in the outdrive when just normal riding ; fishing ect about half cup; but if we ski it is a little more water would this be the u bolts needing changed and seals;

Probably has water in the bellows, the gimbal bearing and ujoint are rusty and noisy. Time to pull the outdrive and have a look.
