I'm looking to do a tune-up on my 5.7l. I thought it was a 1997, but serial looks up to 1988-1995. I plan to replace the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and fuel filter. I'm also doing an oil change, but already have the filter and oil. I don't know marine parts as this is my first boat and I have only had it for a little over a month.
I was looking at a full tune-up kit: MMD-M57TBOLT made by MMD Powerline for just over $100 shipped.
I see that I can part together a similar kit minus the oil filter and fuel treatment for $80 or so shipped with Sierra parts.
I want to get my order in ASAP today so I can get the parts before the end of the week and still get out on the water this weekend. Please help me out with your recommendations.
Are there good aftermarket brands I should consider, or should I fork over the extra 60-100% for OEM?
