changing v belt on 1974 mercruiser

I have a 1974 165 inline 6 mercruiser engine that needs a new v belt. I don't see an east way to put the belt on. It appears I have to take the engine mount bolts off and lift the engine off the mounts to feed the belt on. Is this true?

simply remove the 2 bolts on the port side(alt side) of the motor, remove the spacer, R/R the belt, install spacer and tighten bolts.
