when fuel pump needs replacing is it better to put back a manual one or electric pump if i decide to replace with electric what do you do with the old manual one leave it on engine or is there something i got to do besides replace lines

If it came from the factory with a mechanical fuel pump, I would go back with the same pump. I wouldn't switchover to an electric due to potential legal issues--if the boat ever blew up. The marine engine bay is different from that of an automobile under the hood.
