Re: OMC 115 HP JET DRIVE

Hello, Has anyone checked the manifolds? The exhaust manifolds tend to rot out in a few years. Faster if used all the time in salt water. You say that the gasket was changed. Was the head magnafluxed? (checked for cracks) Do all the cylinders fill with water or just one? Or two grouped together? Sorry to ask so many questions, but need a little bit more info to point you in the right direction. :)

Re: OMC 115 HP JET DRIVE

Your 115 jetdrive is an aluminum outboard powerhead mounted on a jet unit. Besides a cracked block or head(s), water can get into the motor from a leaking base gasket or from leaky exhaust cover gaskets or plate. Ususally an overheat condition will damage the gaskets and water intrusion will result.

You may have to remove the powerhead and inspect all the problem areas.
