Hello.

I have heard that the A1/G2 prop shaft is made from 2 different metals that are friction welded together to make up the shaft. Does anyone know if this is correct?

Also, what is the prefered way to correct a slightly out of spec shaft using heat or just using a shaft?

Any information or comments are apprectiated!!
Thanks!
Pete

pete, it is a 2 piece shaft that is friction welded together.have always been told not to straighten because bending back weakens the shaft even more.although i know some people do attempt to straighten them.

Pete, sure you can straighten them... but if you bend a shaft and straighten it then you have weakened it. If youve got a $500. sst prop I wouldnt risk it on a $300.00 propshaft
