OMC 5.8L Alternator Problem

I keep breaking alternator belts on my 93 Four winns with the above engine. The alternator checks out fine and I have a new battery. Any other suggestions as to a possible cause.

If the alignment is off the belt will get hot usually accompanied by a squeel, rust and corrosion on the ramps can cause premature wear also.
