I used a Dayton V belt from Granger, part # 4L400. It is a little wider so It sits a little higher and tigher-had to finagle and stretch it a little to get it inbetween the mount and on the pully, but works perfect. Cost $5.91 as assposed to the Mercrusier part costing $26.

I did not jack the engine, I loosened both bolts, removed the top one, tipped the spacer forward, put back the top bolt, removed the bottom and spacer (and again to get the belt-in and out). I did not feel any engine shift and it was not a time saver as slipping the jack under would have been eaiser in the long run.........but might be an alternitave it your out on the water.

just thought I would share as I get alot from here
