Hi,
I've recently replaced the alternator on a 3.0L BAR marine engine. Previous to that the belt was fine but the alternator burned out so I went to the shop and got a new one.
I installed it and it seemed ok until I realized that the belt is rubbing more near the bow side of the alternator pulley. It is simply not centered with the rest of the pulleys. From what I can tell it needs to move up some, maybe a quarter inch, maybe less so that it falls square in line with the other pulleys.
Is there an adjustment on the alternator bracket to do this or have I been given the wrong alternator?
Thanks in advance for your help folks, I think Iboats is the best.
