I have a 1998 Sea Ray 210 Bowrider with a Mercruiser 5.0L EFI engine. The fuel pump 'humms' and the engine randomly shuts down as if starved for fuel. Does it more when warm. I believe it is the electric fuel pump but I cannot locate it. The fuel lines from the filter/water separator head under the front of the engine low in the bilge just behind the harmonic balancer. I cannot reach in access to 'feel' where they go.

Where is the fuel pump mounted and how do you access it for replacement?

Thank you if you can offer assistance.

Re: Mercruiser 5.0 Fuel Pump Location

The pump, cooler, and regulator is in a black box bolted to the block behind the port front motor mount.
You can download manual #24 up in the adults only sticky at the top of the forum.
Access depends on boat design. On some designs, I found it easier and faster to pull the engine. You may be able to get to it by removing the exhaust manifold.

Please do not reply to old topics. Look at the Help Tip on top of the page.

Click Mercruiser Information. There are no manual downloads, only a link for viewing the manuals.
