I took lower unit off to repair skeg but did not put shifter in forward gear. Will this give me a problem when I put it back together? Any suggestions?
It's just for the shifter alignment, if you look at the bellhousing, and then at the leg, you can see that in forward, the shifter points towards the front, allowing for easy removal and install.
