I blew the top half of my alfa 1 outdrive had it fixed but now the coupler on the back of engine is gone. how hard is it to change the coupler,i was told i need to pull the engine and replace it.Now i have and engine from where i blewout head and was thinking of using the coupler from there it's the same engine, is there a diagram of how to do this,i'm pretty handy in doing this and I just got done rebuilding my carb. Is there anything i need to know before i take off the back part of this coupler.

Thanks

pull the engine

remove bellhousing

remove and replace coupler, use loctite on the bolts/nuts, torque to spec

you wont be able to get a torque wrench on it i dont think, nuts are behind coupler a little. this is what mine looked like yours might be the same.
