i was just given a 25 foot boat with a mercruiser 270 hp engine it but the engine has sat out and got water in it over the years and is compleatly set up. the heads are shot the engine had some stuff that looks like a small animal lived in it. i dont know a whole lot about boats but i do know cars and i was wondering if i bought a marine cam and put into a small block chevy 350 from a truck would it work? i have all the parts from the orignal engine and i cant afford to buy another mercruiser and the cylinder walls are to rusted to really take and rebuild. any help on this please.
